TALLAHASSEE, FL - A curfew was enforced on all 50,000 uniformed U.S. military personnel after reports that an Okinawa woman was raped by two American sailors in Tokyo, Japan this past weekend.
Lt. Gen. Salvatore A. Angelella, the commander of the United
States forces in Japan said “I want to personally apologize for the grief and
trauma the victim has endured and the anger IT has caused among people in
Okinawa.”

Seaman Christopher Browning and Petty Officer Third lass Skyler Dozierwalker are the two sailors involved in the case and were quickly arrested by Japanese police following the attack.
The curfew will start immediately. General Angelella said that it will be from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. throughout Okinawa and the rest of the country. American personnel will also have to take core values training.
I think that this curfew is definitely needed if soldiers overseas are choosing to behave so outlandishly," said Wandly Joseph, a 3rd year pre-med student. "This is so sad to hear and I pray for the woman involved."

The Japanese police said "the two sailors in the latest case had been out drinking when they attacked the woman, as she walked home before dawn on Tuesday." With the two sailors in Japanese custody, the US ambassador says they will cooperate with the investigation.
